Hi my name is Yara! Please note I prefer no kids under the age of 8.

I am a fun loving, active dog who loves to meet new people and play!

I love anything that gets me moving! I love going for walks and I get very excited when I see my leash or if my foster mom is putting her shoes on near the door! Please be patient with me, I am still working on walking politely but there are just too many things to see and smell and so little time! I am working on not pulling so much but I will still need time to learn to walk at a slower pace. I would benefit from a yard that is fully fenced because I love to run around in the back yard but if I find a spot I can sneak through I may explore the neighbourhood!

I love to play and run but sometimes I don’t know my own size and if I am very excited I can get a bit mouthy and tend to jump. I may be best in a home with older children (older than 8 years). I am working on being gentle, but sometimes I just can’t contain my excitement.

I currently live with my foster family’s cat who is not a big fan of me! I am very curious and want to follow her around wherever she goes and I am working on not chasing her around. I have also barked at her a few times but how can I not stand my ground when she is always hissing at me! I have met other dogs and am very curious about them. If they are nice to me I sure seem to like them! If you have a dog, a nice proper introduction would probably be best.

I am fully housetrained and will let you know when I need to go out. I have been sleeping in the kennel when my foster mom goes out but I am also able to sleep through the night out of the kennel with no issues on my comfy dog bed. I really like my chew toys that foster mom has given to me, it keeps me entertained if my foster parents just want to relax!

I have been working on my training and have mastered sit and lay down but am still working on come and leave it. I definitely do better if I am calm and there are lots of treats involved.
