At Manitoba Mutts we take in dogs and cats from all over Manitoba who have been abandoned, abused or surrendered at no fault of their own. Since we are a foster-home based rescue, not all of our animals are tested with other dogs, cats and kids. Please note that we do not list breeds as the breeds of our dogs and pups are more often than not a guess based on their appearance. Also, full grown weight for puppies is also a guess based on their mother (if known) and supposed breeds. Almost all of our rescues are purebred mutts, which is what makes them so special, they're one of a kind.
Haagen (Fizzgig) Age: 8 months (2018-01-23) | Sex: Female Breed: Mixed | Size: M (30-50lbs) Hi I’m Haagen – as in Haagen Daz – and I also answer to ‘Fizzie’ because someone else named me that for a while. Either way both names suit me because I am a sweet and bubbly little girl. I love to play, play, play with humans of all ages and dogs, too, but remember, I am bouncy and still learning my boundaries. Fetch, catch and chase are my favorite games, but I also love to snuggle after a long day of playing. My foster family found out this weekend that I also love swimming so if you have a lake or a pool that you’d let me jump into, I’ll be in my glory! My foster mum and I have only been playing together for less than a week, but here’s what she says about my ‘skills’: I am very good in a kennel at night – I’ll peep a little bit because naturally I’d rather be in your bed, but sure, I know this is my bed, and after that I sleep right through until morning. I know how to “sit” and “lay down” really good, but I need to work on “stay” and a few other commands. I am working on figuring out the housetraining thing; like when exactly I need to do business and how to let my humans know, however, I have noticed that whenever I do it outside on the grass, I get big hugs and a treat, too, so I think that’s the right place….I’ll keep you posted. I have lots of my own chew toys and bones here so I don’t need to chew on furniture or shoes. And those walks…yes…my foster family loves to go out for dog walks on a leash, but I am not very comfortable doing that. First off, I just want to RUN! and so foster mom says I need to work on ‘pulling’ and ‘leash manners’ – I think I know what she means. But then, just when I think I’ve got it, boom! I see a small creature like a squirrel, cat, bird, or a cricket – and I just want to chase it and get it so bad!!! (Did I mention I love to play!?) My health is good, though I'm just getting over a UTI which I have special food for". I am looking for an active family who has time to spend with me, playing and training, and of course, snuggling too. Foster mom tells me all the time that my kisses are the BEST and that any family would be lucky to have me as their forever pup. Could this be you? Greg (Coulson) Age: 4 years (2013-12-17) | Sex: Male Breed: Mixed | Size: L (50 to 80lbs) Hi, I'm Coulson! I’m a laid-back boy who loves playing with my toys and then cuddling up with you. I am fully housetrained and I've been working on my crate training. I am good with people, but I'm not sure about cats and kids. I'm pretty big, so sometimes I might lean too much for someone who is small. I love going for walks and I'm pretty good on the leash, but I am quite strong. Sometimes I even get zoomies when I come in from a walk! I really do love my toys and playing with my foster mom's. I am a very good boy who would love to keep you company! Would you take a chance on me? Visit www.manitobamutts.org or contact email@example.com for more information.
