ADOPTION PENDING – NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS

Hi I’m Rita, but my foster parents sometimes call me Rita Bear or Rita Baby. I’m a sweet, but shy and timid girl who loves lounging and playing with my squeaky toys. I am not housetrained yet but I do make an effort to use puppy pads, in fact I’m getting quite good at it! You will know when I need to use the bathroom because I start sniffing and exploring my next spot. I’m working on being fully crate trained, I do however spend a lot of my time in my crate because it’s my safe haven and favourite lounge spot, it’s also where I stash all my toys and even some of my foster parents things. 

I am not big into cuddling or physical affection yet, but I do love having you in the room. So much that I will follow you from room to room if you leave me, but then I run as soon as you face me. I am not sure if I’m good with cats/kids/other dogs, but I do know I don’t like it when I’m approached too quickly. I also like you to be on the same level as me otherwise I’m right spooked! I like going for walks around the yard to explore and sun bathe, but I am easily scared by moving objects. I don’t quite understand the leash and/or how to be led, rather I can be sassy and move where I want to and when I want to. 

I am an adorable little pup who would love to find a permanent home, with a family who will be patient with me as I grow to trust humans. Is there room for me in your family?
