Hi there! I’m Oreo and I guarantee you I’m just as sweet as the cookie I’m named after! And speaking of cookies, I love them! ‘Treat’ is one of my favourite words!

I’m completely housetrained and crate trained, although I do put up a bit of a fuss when you put me in my crate and you get ready to leave the house. It doesn’t take long until I settle down and have a little rest until you return home, but I am loud enough that apartment living wouldn’t be a good fit for me. When you’re home, I’ll sometimes choose to go in my crate for quiet time as I know it’s my comfy safe place.

I’ve been very good with the cats and dogs in my foster home! Okay, I must admit I’m quite interested in chasing the cats, but only in a fun, playful way. So, if you have cats, it’s best they’re comfortable with playful dogs. I’m also very interested in playing with the dogs in my foster home but playtime has been very minimal.

I’ve been busy healing from surgery for a broken leg, so my activity has been quite limited over the past couple of months. Because I’m still a little cautious with my injured leg and really don’t like having my feet touched, it would be best that any kids I live with are over 10 years old. I will nip if you touch my feet and leg and I feel uncomfortable with it. I haven’t spent much time with kids but have been really good with the ones I’ve seen on my walks. Speaking of walks- I LOVE going for walks and I’m actually really great on a leash!

One thing my foster mom says we must talk about is GROOMING! I’m that dog who will need regular grooming which may include a good haircut at least a couple of times a year. If you can do it, that would be great but, if not, a trip to the groomer will definitely be a must! My fur is short now, but when I came into the care of MMDR it was long and full of matts- picture a fluffy little sheepdog.

I’m a goofy little lovebug looking for a family who will let me cuddle up on the couch with them, take me for fun, sniffy walks and who will share with me all the great adventures life has to offer. If you’re that family, I can’t wait to meet you!

Please understand: I have a little ways to go before I’m completely recovered so I do still have a bit of a limp that should resolve with more time and loving care. My foster family will fill you in on the details and provide you with follow-up information to help you help me get back to enjoying life 100%!
