Hi, I’m Nyla! I’ve been a house cat for two glorious weeks now, and it suits me so much I’m looking for a home to call my own forever.

The night before Canada Day, just a half-hour before a huge thunderstorm, a kind Winnipeg couple found me hiding alone under their deck. I was skinny, hungry, and very screamy. Fortunately, the kind couple lived just down the street from another couple, who foster kittens for Manitoba Mutts! They scooped me up and I was scarfing down Homestyle Turkey Dinner Friskies in their kitchen just as the first raindrops began to fall.

In just a matter of days I went from a scrawny little castaway to a happy, healthy, cuddly kitten. (I am still very screamy, but they are joyful screams.)

I am playful, athletic, and a bundle of energy! I love to scamper, skitter, pounce, gallop, climb, tumble, and chase my own tail like a maniac. These speed bursts typically last 11-13 minutes before I conk out on the chest of the nearest human, or curl up in that kitten-sized space between their neck and shoulder. I especially like to sit on humans’ laps while they’re at the computer working from home.

I also love socializing with other cats! There are two cats in my foster home that are about eight times my size, and my favourite pastime is tackling them. I’m still a bit small to be an effective tackler, but what I lack in size I make up for in enthusiasm. I would probably do best in a home with other pets who can be patient with my roughhousing, or at least hide from me when they get sick of me. I do enjoy cuddling with other kitties in addition to attacking them.
