I’m Nora. I am a sweet, quiet, lovable girl who loves to hang out on your couch (and ON TOP OF my foster mom – both tied for a close 1st place). I am shy when meeting new people. I need to do some initial smelling and eating of treats with foster mom close by. Once I know you, we can play and go on walks all the time! During the day I am self-sufficient where I can be by myself either on, you guess it, your couch or in the kennel. In the mornings and evenings, I am a cuddler. I love getting my belly rubbed and if you sit/lay down on the couch, guess where my head will be? Either on your lap or right up close to you – this allows me to keep close tabs on you.
I am fully house and kennel trained. When it’s time to go on a walk, I wait patiently and have learned to sit/laydown as I wait. I am pretty good on the leash although I can get distracted by those pesky rabbits and wonderful smells. My foster mom thinks I was never on a leash prior so it has been a bit of a learning curve for me. I am sometimes a bit stubborn and will not want to move due to the rabbits/wonderful smells but with some patience or treats, I start to walk again quite quickly. I sleep in a kennel at night and go in there during the day to rest. I don’t think I have ever been in one in the past – it’s not so bad actually. I don’t whimper or make any noise when I am in there, even if sometimes foster mom has to put me in there at night or while she runs an errand. Since my foster mom works from home I have gotten use to going in and out of the kennel during the day freely. I may need some extra time learning to go in the kennel for long periods during the day. However I hope with trust & guidance I can be allowed to roam the house when you are gone.
I have met people and other dogs. I am very good with people of all ages. Even the little ones that may get a little too close. While provincial health restrictions have made it difficult to meet and hang out with my foster mom’s friends who have dogs, those we have met on walks are very interesting to me. Like people, once I am allowed to smell and slowly interact with other dogs, we will likely become fast friends. I have not met any cats yet but if they allow me to sniff them, we should be friends too. Or at least friendly acquaintances…
I am a sweet, loving, beautiful girl who would love a family to be a part of. Are you that family for me?
