Hi, I’m Lady Lydia!
I am energetic, sweet and FULL of love. I am a puppy at heart, but I also know how to keep myself occupied with a bone or toy. I love people and if you pet me once, I will give you 100 nose-nudges to PLEASE CONTINUE! Head scratches are my favourite. It is my turn to be spoiled! I had a gorgeous litter of pups and now I want all the lovin’ from my new family!
I have had a couple accidents in my new foster home, but only because I’m not sure where the exit is! All these doors are confusing! I would need you to be patient and show me the new rules at your house for the first few days, but once I learn, I am good to go. During the day, my foster family lets me stay in the breezeway, where my kennel is. They don’t make me stay in my kennel, but they don’t quite trust me out because I’ve only been here for a few days. When foster mom works from home, she leaves the breezeway door open and I stay in there anyways! It’s comfy and I spend my time snoozing or chewing on bones.
I really enjoy walks and am trying not to pull when I get excited by birds or leaves blowing by. Sometimes I get so distracted that I forget to do my business outside! We might need to stop walking and focus for a minute so that I remember why we went outside in the first place. I am learning my leash manners, but if I start to pull hard, foster mom stops walking and asks me to sit. I haven’t been with foster mom for very long, but I am picking up on this cue very quickly! I like treats and am food driven, so I have been learning “sit”, “down” and “stay”. I am a fast learner but I listen best when I’m rewarded for my hard work.
I have not been around any kids, but I’m sure I would love them! I am a strong girl so if my two-legged siblings are small, you might need to keep an eye on us until I learn exactly how to behave. I love being around other dogs and I play very nicely. Both of my foster dog siblings are smaller than me and I make sure to be gentle. However, I should not be in a home with cats!
When it comes to food however, I don’t like other dogs in my space. I will growl to let them know that this food is mine, but I don’t mind at all if foster mom needs to move my bowl or if she asks me to slow down! To help me and my dog siblings feel safe and secure, foster mom has us eat in different rooms. In my new home, I might like to try a slow-feeding or puzzle bowl so I can savour every kibble.
I am the most loving girl, and I’m excited to be in a new home where I can have unlimited treats, head scratches and settle into a life of adventure!”
