Hi, I’m Element, but my foster family calls me Ellie. I’m the Mom to the periodic table litter (yes, all 11 of them), and now that they’ve all found their forever homes, it’s finally my turn!
As my foster family always says, I’m quite the character. I’m a really sweet pup, but I do have some requirements from my new family. If you don’t meet my needs, I’ll be sure to let you know by whining at the door and making you feel soooo bad for keeping me cooped up. And I have magical puppy eyes 🥺
My needs are as follows:
– I’m a very fit dog, so walks aren’t enough for me. My favourite thing is running around off leash chasing bunnies, and I love to be free, but don’t expect me to come back when I’m called. The next best option is taking me for a run, and believe me, I can run. I love running beside a bike, and my foster family thinks that I would be amazing at skijoring. I love to pull, so I’m not particularly great on leash, unless you’re going at my speed (which is fast, like faster than most people run).
– I can be picky with my dog friends, and am easily set off by barking, but I have enjoyed having a friend to keep me company in my foster home. Normally we get along really well, but when we do have kerfuffles, I can get pretty aggressive, but she’s good at putting me in my place. I’m never aggressive with people though. If there’s a dog in my new home, I will need to meet him or her before you decide to adopt me! I have a strong prey drive, so no cats or rodents would be best.
– As I mentioned before, I love to run! Because of that, I’ve gotten into a habit of escaping my yard by jumping the fence (4ft). My new house will need a tall secure fence (or maybe a large acreage or farm, with no roads nearby). I will also take any chance I get to run out of the house, so you’ll have to be careful when you’re going in and out the door. I am kennel trained, so that can help keep me in!
Now more about me! I’m a super friendly gal. I love cuddling on the couch and chewing on toys and bones. I sleep through the night in my foster mom’s room (and will even sleep in)! As I said, I’m kennel trained and eat all my meals in there. I’m also housetrained, meaning I know that I’m supposed to do my business outside, but I will do my business inside out of protest (for example, when my family started putting me on the tether in the yard and I refused to do my business on the tether).
Ok, that’s all for now! You can learn even more about me if you come to meet me, just make sure you’re ready to deal with all my shenanigans!
