Hi. I’m Maci! I’m a happy girl whose heart has been broken too many times; my foster Mom says there’s nothing wrong with me…. but I just want to be with my furever humans and feel loved. I have SO MUCH love to give and everyone who knows me says I’m the “sweetest girl.” I’m not the best “player,” but I also like to be with my foster brother, mostly because I don’t like to be alone. I am fully housetrained, and crate trained. I likely don’t even need to stay in my crate during the day, but my foster Mom and Dad keep me in here for consistency. I am good with kids and other dogs, even my foster brother who is constantly getting in my way and taking things from me. The only thing I prefer is to eat my food by myself. My tongue is a little split, so it takes me a little longer to eat my food and I don’t want to have to protect it from other animals. I haven’t had a lot of exposure to cats. I’ve only seen the ones at the vet, and I barked at them; but, I never growled. My foster Mom thinks I would be fine with cats though because I’m a very patient girl with other animals.
I LOVE walks. I am polite on the leash. But my foster Mom says a front clipping harness or face harness would be EVEN better for me as I lead with my sniffer… she says it isn’t necessary, but it would help.
I could use a little work on following commands but with just a few days at my foster, I have improved on listening for sit, come, and shake a paw. I think that’s because I’m starting to understand the rules. One thing I know is I need help to feel safe before I settle down. I bark a little on my first day with my new family because I need to know the new rules. I’ve bounced around so much, it gets confusing! My foster mom also thinks I am hard of hearing and maybe have some vision problems.
I am a loving girl who would thrive in a home that has consistency, love to give, and time for a few scratches.
