Hi, I’m Slinky, and I’m a super friendly, fun bundle of energy! I love to play with anyone and anything! I’m also slowly starting to learn that relaxing and cuddling on the couch next to my favourite humans is actually quite nice.

I came into the care of Manitoba Mutts with a ‘To Do’ list and so far I’ve been able to check a few things off!

To Do List:

✅Learn how to use a crate. I do well in my crate and even choose to go in it for quiet time! I sleep in it all night and when there are no humans home.

✅Conquer house training. No problems here! I am 100% potty trained!

✅Socialize like a good boy with cats. I’m very good with cats however it’s best they are dog savvy as I do like to play with them and enjoy the occasional cat chase!

🟩Get along politely with other dogs. Well, I have part of this done! I love other dogs, but my manners with them and ability to read and respect their signals needs work. I have a very enthusiastic play style and don’t often listen to other dogs when they’re done playing and I still want to keep going. It would be best if any other dog I live with is very playful, patient, and bigger than me. And meeting them in advance will help!

✅Make friends with children. I love kids! I’m an excitable, jumpy guy though, so it’s best I only live with kids 8 and over as I’d likely knock the smaller ones down.

🟩Learn how to walk on leash like a gentleman. I still need a lot of work with this as I really like to pull towards anything that excites me!

🟩Find a nice home with a fenced back yard. Because of my energy level it would be best if I didn’t live in an apartment and I have a fenced yard to run around in.

🟩Continue working on my separation anxiety. It’s not bad at all, but I don’t really like being away from my humans. I’m doing very well with it and starting to understand that even when my foster mom goes away, she always comes back!

🟩Find a loving, patient family who will help me become the amazing family dog I know I can be! (This is my most important ‘To Do’!)

If you think you might be the right family to help me check off the rest of the goals on my ‘To Do’ list, come and meet me! I can guarantee I’ll be very happy to see you!
