Hi, I’m Shortbread!

I’m an active girl who loves to RUN.
✅I am housetrained! I have the odd accident but I’ve also started asking to go out.
✅I love my kennel! I eat meals in there while learning both me and my food are safe from other dogs. I go in there when my foster family is out with a snack and water, sometimes I may make noise after a while but I calm down with my chew things, stuffies and have a radio or tv on in the room.

✅At night time I can sleep in a kennel but I can also go overnight without having to potty, so a dog bed beside your bed works, a cool floor or sometimes I cozy up in bed with my foster mom (as long as I don’t get too hot and you don’t mind my head resting on your feet)!

✅I’m good with other active dogs while learning they are not out to hurt me but once I know this I must play or I will continue to bark…Please play with me! I can annoy my older foster sister and get in trouble from nipping at her, but I just always want to play and sometimes not sure when it’s time to stop.
✅I’d be best in a fenced yard as I love to run, play chase and even keep away sometimes.

✅I’m a smart girl and still learning. I play with my foster brother when he’s in the mood. Foster mom says he is good at correcting me.

✅I love kids but older, ‘dog smart’ kids would be best as I get really excited – I’m still nippy with sharp teeth. I can get defensive and sometimes grouchy when I don’t get my own way. I have gone in my kennel for time outs, as long as I have something to chew with me and often I end up taking a nap.

I am not able to go on walks yet (until after my 3rd vaccine) so will need practise on a leash and collar. I have the best manners with a collar on.
