ADOPTION PENDING – NO LONGER ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS
I’m Salsa from the Nacho litter. My 3 siblings found their forever homes a while back and now it’s my turn. I was on a medical hold but the vet gave me the thumbs up so here I am happy and healthy! (I was treated for a UTI but am all healed up now but please keep an eye on me to be safe!)

You will never meet another pup as sweet as me. I give lots of puppy kisses and enjoy climbing all over you then like to settle down somewhere close.  I love humans and can be quite clingy when I find “the one”. I am my foster mom’s shadow. She is constantly stepping on my toes and tripping over me as I’m always underfoot.

I can be shy and nervous in new situations. It took 10 days before I would potty outside without foster mom. And it took a long time each time we would go out. Every noise would distract me and some scared me.
I’m now able to go out with my fur buddies and play and potty no problem.  I play very well with both the dogs and cats in my foster home. I would love to have nice kids to play catch and explore the outdoors with.

I would really like to have a dog buddy to help me blossom into a well adjusted pup. I will not be happy if I spend my days alone. I am left to roam free in the house with the resident animals when mom goes to work. Humans need to be aware I’m a pup and do like to chew so put your shoes away, close closet doors, etc. There are pee pads out for me when no one is home.

Potty training is half way there. I don’t give signals as to when I have to go.  If you keep track of when I last went and stay aware of my whereabouts things go pretty good. We are working on using the bell on the door. And I always get a treat when I go potty outside.

I walk well on a leash most of the time. Sometimes I get scared and run in between moms legs and get tangled. My recall is good but I’m not fully trusted off leash yet. If I get really scared I get flustered and might bolt and run.  A fenced yard is a must for me as I learn confidence.

I am great at sharing! Sharing your snacks, your bed, your pillow. I’m gentle so I would be fine with little kids. Loveable, goofy, loyal. Everything you’d like in a best friend!
